Scholarly/Professional Summary

Dr. Azunna hails from Umuafonne village, Etiti-Akanu Ngwa Autonomuous community, Ugwunagbo LGA of Abia State. He started his primary school education at Ezeleke community primary school Umuahia where he got a distinction in his first school leaving certificate in 1998. He also obtained his West African Senior school certificate in 2006 and proceeded to Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike where he bagged a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics in 2011. He also obtained his postgraduate degrees in Geophysics from the same University. Dr. Azunna has vast experience in teaching as he has taught in all the levels of education. He has also participated in different academic competitions and as such his academic diligence has earned him several awards.He holds a 2010 commonwealth award in scientific writing, the best physics student in the 2006/2007 academic session as awarded by the National Association of Physics Students. He also participated in the maiden edition of the cowbell national mathematics competition in 2000. He started his tertiary education career during his NYSC days where he doubled as both a graduate assistant and a laboratory technologist at Bukar Abba Ibrahim University Damaturu, Yobe State in 2011. Dr. Azunna has national and international affiliations in the field of Physics and Geophysics. He was accepted into the membership of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), an International Society for Pure and Applied Geophysicists in 2014 after which he rose to be an Associate Member in 2017. He is a member of; Adventist Educators Association of Nigeria (ADEASON), Nigerian Institute of Physics (NIP), the Nigerian Geophysical society (NGS) and Physics Wrriters Creation Serires.  Dr. Azunna has attended various conferences and workshops. Due to his scholastic diligence in 2018, he was conferred a lifetime member and Fellow, Directorate of Earth Science, International Agency for Standards and Ratings (FIASR) after emerging as a world Champion out of 89 countries of the world in a world championship. Dr. Azunna is young and vibrant, a motivator, role model and a public speaker. He has delivered various lectures at different youth and public gatherings. He is also a veteran physics examiner for different examination bodies in Nigeria and West Africa. His avid research interest in the areas of mineralogy and other areas of earth science has earned him some publications in reputable national and international journals. He is also a reviewer to different international journals in physics. Such journals include; Asian Journal of Research and Reviews in Physics, Chemical Science International Journal, International Journal of Environment and Climate Change, International Journal of Plant and Soil Science, Journal of Education, Society and Behavioral Science, Journal of geography, Environment and Earth Science International and Asian Journal of Geological Research. He is still growing in his career and seeks to be more renowned globally in the field of physics and earth sciences. He is happily married.
